St Bede’s will be running a state of the art commercial-based hospitality/canteen in Stage 2 of the Building Project which will be completed for the start of 2021.
St Bedes' canteen follows the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy. This Government initiative labels foods into two categories: Everyday Foods (salads, fruit and handmade items) and Occasional Foods (pies, snack items - muffins/ chips).
The canteen offers over 75% of the menu as Everyday which is in line with the New Healthy Eating Strategy.
The Canteen is operated by one paid supervisor who is assisted by parent and community volunteers. This enables the canteen to run efficiently and be able to provide all students with a healthy menu.
Prices are kept to a minimum as the canteen is viewed as a service and does not make a profit.
The St Bede’s Canteen has been up and running since 29 May 2019. The students have been very excited. I have received a lovely welcome to the St Bede’s College community, thank you.
