Students with additional needs

St Bede’s Catholic College is committed to an inclusive framework of Learning Support which has been established to ensure all students receive the support they need to successfully participate and achieve as learners.

Learning Support staff work collaboratively with families in developing and implementing Personalised Plans (PPs) for students with additional needs.

Support is provided to students in the following areas:

  • learning difficulties
  • behaviour support
  • speech and language
  • developmental disabilities, inclusive of autism
  • mental health
  • hearing impairment
  • vision impairment
  • assessment and counselling support

At the time of seeking enrolment, parents/carers and their advocates are recognised as significant participants in negotiating and planning their child’s education. The process requires transparency, equal access to information and clear, open communication.

For enrolment of students with additional needs, a member of Learning Support is involved to ensure the individual needs of the students seeking enrolment can be met.
