Guidelines for Absences at St Bede’s
All absences whether they are for a full day or any part of a day (late arrival or early departure) require an explanation and consent in writing from a parent or guardian. Verbal notification of a student’s absence must be followed up in writing. The Education Act requires parents/guardians to provide the School such notice within 7 days of the absence.
From week 11 letters will be posted out on a weekly basis and emailed out to parents/carers if there are any unexplained absences for students, which will require you to complete and return the slip at the bottom of the letter to their homeroom teacher or you can log onto Compass to add a note or approval for your child/ren.
