Dear Parents and Carers,
A very warm welcome back to Term 3. We hope you have had a safe and enjoyable holiday. A reminder that the school term will commence this Wednesday 14 July, as staff will be involved in professional learning focused on Stage 6 Preparation prior to the school term commencing.
As has been communicated by our Director of Schools in earlier correspondence, there are some changes to operations compared to last term because of the unfolding situation with COVID-19 within NSW. The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students remains paramount and we will continue to comply with advice from the NSW Government and Catholic Schools NSW.
Please take note of the following points in your child returning to school:If students are unwell
If students are unwell or display even the mildest COVID-symptoms they are to stay at home until they produce a negative COVID test or have specific clearance from their GP. If students present to school with symptoms, they will be asked to be collected.
Students or staff who have been identified as close contacts of a person diagnosed with COVID-19 during their infectious period must follow NSW Health advice. Families are encouraged to monitor the NSW Health Information
to check locations of positive cases.Visitors and parents onsite
Parents when dropping off or collecting students are asked to always remain in their vehicle. Should parents need to enter the school grounds they are required to follow COVID safe practices, including:
Staff and students onsite
- Signing-in and out of the school using the Service NSW QR code
- maintaining physical distancing
- following hand hygiene and hand sanitising procedures
- Wear a face mask as directed by NSW Health.
The school will maintain its additional cleaning procedures to ensure a COVID safe environment. Face masks are recommended indoors for all staff and students, there are exemptions, such as teachers may need to remove their face mask to clearly communicate with students in class. It is mandatory for students to wear face masks when travelling on public transport. Students must have their own mask provided for use to and from school.Travel to geographical hotspots
We trust that parents have followed the advice from NSW Health and the NSW Government regarding the restriction of travel to COVID hotspots, including Greater Sydney. If you have been advised or instructed to isolate, we ask that you please refrain from entering the school grounds.School assemblies
School assemblies are permitted to go ahead; however, parents and visitors are currently not permitted to attend.
Should further restrictions or a lock down be imposed the College will be ready to ensure our students maintain a continuum in quality learning within a remote learning environment.
