Recently, Foundation Principal of St Bede's Catholic College Chisholm, John Murphy, wrote a case study for Catholic Secondary Principals Australia on the development of the new school. Catholic Secondary Principals Australia is the national peak body for Australian Catholic Secondary School Principals.
In his case study, John highlights some of the challenges of being a Foundation Principal, including how to build a new school community and the development of a Foundation Plan for St Bede's. As he states in the case study, St Bede's is the first "Catholic Secondary School to open in the Maitland Newcastle Diocese for over 40 years", meaning the leaders, staff and students are writing the history of the College from day one.
